The highlight of the month is a documentary prepared on IIT Kharagpur. This was aired on Doordarshan on the 16th of March. The film was sponsored by the IIT Kgp batch of 1970. Vinod Gupta (’67), pictured above right, has set up an endowment Chair Professorship named for Prof. A.S. Davis, an Associate Professor of Thermodynamics in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Warden of R.K. Hall. The endowment will serve as a top up salary to the Professor that is teaching and/or carrying out research in Thermodynamics or a related course. IITD Delhi has announced development of low cost AI based tools for instant detection of certain diseases.
Spring has set in and the air is full of fragrance of flowers, chirping of birds and humming of bees. Politically, election tensions and rhetoric is beginning to build up.
