NOT ALL GOOD MEN HAVE GONE
There are nice people around!! Read this-
On 26th April I had gone to see the Divisional Commissioner of Gurugram and parked my car outside his office. This point is about 300 m from the office and generally the road is deserted, with the typical looks of civil lines area. I returned to the car after 1-1/2 hours and as I approached the car, two rustic looking men sitting by the kerb accosted me and asked my name. Hesitantly, I said, “bhushan” and moved to open the car door. One of them said: Bhushan Ji, just see if you have something missing?” I could not see anything missing. “check the car”, they said. I checked and found nothing missing, told them so and again made a move to go. They now said,” Your purse is there?” I sometime leave it in car, sometime in pocket. Now I looked for it and found it missing.
Now they asked,”what is your full name” I gave it. One of them said, ” Bhushan Ji, we were matching the name with the one on your driving licence. When you got out of car, your purse fell out of your pocket onto the road. We saw it from a distance and came and picked it. But you walk fast and had disappeared in one of these bungalows. We are waiting for you to return since then.”
They gave me my purse (which had about Rs 10 K cash and the usual cards etc.)
As we got to talk after this, one of them turned out to hail from Jhajjar District in Haryana. Naturally I told him about the Library established in Jhajjar district by we people, from personal resources. Hearing about it, he commented: “You have served others (he used the word “paropkar” in local language), that is why your purse was found. “Upar Wala (God) takes care.
Moral of the story: Serve the needy-you might recover lost property.

ABOUT GOVT SCHOOL, JHAJJAR
30th April was retirement day of Mr Balwan Singh, Principal, Govt Sr Sec School, Palra, Jhajjar. Mr Balwan Singh had co-operated with gusto in the establishment of IIT-ian family’s, “Sanghi Library” at his school, honoring Prof Sanjeev Sanghi,Dean Aaip Iitd.He will be missed.
DrGeetanjali Kaushik, Ms Jyotsna Chug, Mrs Rekha Bhushan made a farewell gift and used the occasion to interact with kids in the Library(see video).

DECEPTIVE PICTURES
Exploding stars and black holes in distant intergalactic space captured by my camera!……………………………………………………………………………………………………..simply kidding! This is a spider web woven on Geranium plants in my garden. The three “black holes” (top right), surrounded by rays, are Semal Seeds. The light rays apparantly coming from there are cotton fibres stuck to the seeds. The seeds along with their cotton have been carried by the wind and trapped in the web.The (circular) stars are caused by sunlight filtering through the foliage and blurred due to defocussing, the focus being precisely on the web. Enlarge the picture to see the web itself better.The spider herself eluded me when other things were right for taking the picture.
Imagine the problems scientists face when interpreting images from outer space and electron microscopes!

A Greek billionaire and heir to the COCO COLA fortune was arrested, yesterday, on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts after a search of his private jet uncovered more than $1.3 million worth of cannabis on board. Alkiviades “Alki” David, 50, was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Unit at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and charged with multiple drug related
offences.The billionaire had also,recently, ran into legal trouble in April after a former female employee was allegedly fired for refusing to have sex with him. David paid $11.1 million in a harassment settlement.
David is on bail.

These days it needs a study to conclude what is evident and plain common sense. The study, however, helps to the extent of determining a time line. Priorities before our nation are only two: 1. Dr SHIV SINGH RAWAT-IITD ALUMNUS
Sharing news from Dr Shiv Singh Rawat Superintending Engineer Irrigation Department Gurgaon (Resident of village Bahin Palwal), IITD alumnus: being honoured by Mahavir International Society Gurugram at Gurgaon for running stiching centre in his native house at village Bahin to empower women and development of skills. 7 girls of centre have been given stiching machines.
DrShiv Singh Rawat‘s actions remind me of a Govt Primary School in my native village which operated from our personal “haveli” (called “mansion” in english) in the village in the 1950’s for about 10 years. Therafter its building was made by Govt on a piece of land, given by my Dad on perpetual lease to the school.The school is running even now.
Let more people come forward to emulate such persons.

SUPERCONDUCTIVITY
Regarding Alok Saxena‘s post dt May 27, 2019, regarding superconductors, I may mention that I have been manufacturing “Superconductivity Apparatus” for performing experiments on superconductivity since 2002. This has been in use with all the five original IIT’s; II Sc.Bangalore, BHU; and major Indian & Foreign Universities for M Sc experiments, for the last 17 years. Of course, we use Yi and Bi based materials which superconduct at liquid nitrogen temperatures and are commercially available. Our focus is not on temperature-low or high-but to enable experiments like plotting R vs T characteristics, Meisner effect, Susceptibility studies etc. Please visit:

I had taken the picture on the left hand side, in Gulmarg, J & K in 2010. I had just stepped out of my car and was sort of hit by the cold mountain air, when the scene you see below, both stunned and triggered me. I rushed in, to get the camera out, and as they say in Kashmir, Allah granted me this cherished picture of these beautiful teen aged ladies, posing with such innocence and eagerness, for their camera.

SMILE A WHILE
Bob, an industrial engineer, gave a lecture on ergonomics to a group of factory workers. After covering all the finer points of maximizing efficiency in repetitive tasks, he concluded his lecture with a note of caution. “Don’t try these techniques at home.”
“Why not?” asked somebody from the audience.
“I watched my wife’s routine at breakfast for years,” the engineer explained. “She made lots of trips between the fridge, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her, “You’re wasting too much time. Why don’t you try carrying several things at once?”
“Did it save time?” the guy in the audience asked.
“Actually, yes,” replied the expert. “It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in ten.”
